Pistons dominate Mavericks

Tayshaun Prince added 16 points for the Pistons, who have now won five consecutive games following a three-game losing streak.Detroit had their defence to thank as the Mavericks shot 30% (23-of-76) from the floor, their worst return of the season, including just 2-of-14 from the arc.Detroit took a 20-14 lead at the end of the first on the back of an 11-2 run as Dallas missed their last 14 shots of the opening quarter.They continued to hold Dallas in the second but failed to pull away, leading just 44-38 at the break.But the Pistons ended the third with 10 unanswered points - ending with a Richard Hamilton jumper - to take a commanding 66-51 lead entering the fourth to put the game out of reach.The Mavericks never got closer than 13 points for the rest of the game and the Pistons even led by 26 with 1:27 left to play.Dirk Nowitzki had 15 points and 10 rebounds but shot just 3-of-18from the field for the Mavericks,Kobe Bryant scored 19 of his 30 points in the first quarter as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Washington Wizards 103-91.
Bryant helped the Lakers take control early as they led 30-15 after the first quarter and 63-39 at half-time.The superstar scored 25 points in the first half - one less than the combined total of the Wizards' starting five.Antawn Jamison recorded his 27t double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Wizards, who have now lost three in a row.
